In case you missed it, our regular October Club meeting was replaced by our annual dinner and fundraiser. A huge thank you and appreciation is extended to the volunteers who helped set up, breakdown, serve food and drinks and organize the dinner. The evening was a success and it couldn’t have happened without volunteers, Barbara and Al Miller, Nancy Jones, Sue and Art Walenta and Marty Suess.
The evening at the Kensington Community Center was filled with chatting, tasty food, drinks and our fabulous keynote speaker, Fiona Ma. She’s running for Board of Equalization District 2 and the Club endorsed her. In case you don’t know, Fiona was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2002 and the State Assembly in 2006. She was the 112th woman to ever be elected to the California Legislature and the first Asian woman to ever serve as Speaker pro Tempore since 1850.
Fifty attendees mingled, networked, and of course, ate and drank. You couldn’t turnaround without running into an elected official or a candidate. See the pictures from the dinner on the next page.
Before the dinner, on September 23, the Club held an endorsement meeting for the Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District board candidates. Forty people attended the meeting and Club members voted to endorse Len Welsh.
