We have another exciting ECDC meeting planned for April! We have formally invited both candidates to speak at the ECDC general meeting. Either the candidate or a surrogate of their choice will speak to ECDC’s general membership. Immediately after the speech, ECDC members are invited to submit their votes pursuant to our Standing Rules to endorse a member of the club.
In addition to our political guests, I ask everyone in ECDC to extend a warm welcome to the West County Democratic Club (WCDC). WCDC has graciously agreed to co-sponsor the event and I look forward to future partnerships with WCDC (and other local Democratic clubs!).
ECDC Executive Board may also invite other candidates for various California Democratic Party (CDP) elections. Every effort is being made to invite candidates who represent our club’s geographical area but busy schedules will require our club’s flexibility. I will bring updates as soon as possible. This notice is to reaffirm our club’s intent to endorse a candidate for the CDP chair, in addition to other elections within the California Democratic Party. The candidate endorsement forum will be held at 545 Ashbury Ave., El Cerrito, CA starting at 6:30PM, on Tuesday, April 25th.
Our Executive Board also met on April 3, 2017 with a quorum of officers present. The President, Executive Vice President, Immediate Past President, VP of Records, VP of Programming, VP of Publications, and VP of Membership were present. At our meeting, we discussed:
-moving the May general meeting from May 23 to May 30 (to accommodate ECDC members who will be attending the CDP State Convention)
-enhancing the April meeting to include CDP elections beyond the CDP chair
-finalizing our October annual dinner speaker (Delaine Eastin)
