Below is a message from retired ECDC president, Al Miller:
Hello Everybody;
I want to be sure you all are aware of a local food drive to help the people struggling to recover from the catastrophic wildfires in Napa and Sonoma counties.
The Wildcat 4-H Club, of Fairmont Elementary School, is collecting items to take to the Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa to supply evacuation centers throughout the affected area. They are in dire need of ready-to-eat, non-perishable foods such as snacks, fresh fruit, various nutritional bars, bottled water or other healthy drinks. These should be easy to open and easy to eat – many shelters do not have kitchens for heating and preparing food. Try to think what you would like to have, and donate some of that.
They have placed a donation box at Well Grounded Tea & Coffee Bar, 6925 Stockton Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530, (510) 528-4709, (Open 06:00 am ~ 06:00 pm). NO GLASS containers or perishable foods, please.
The first delivery will be Friday, October 13, with additional deliveries each week.
If we all give a little, we should end up with a lot.
Thanks for your help.
Al Miller
