America’s Night Out Against Crime Is Coming!

SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, August 1 – NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
As the newly elected chair of our El Cerrito Crime Prevention Committee, I wanted to remind you about our City’s big upcoming co-coordinated event that everyone can participate in.

Host your neighborhood’s night out block party! Join your neighbors in a potluck, park BBQ, or ice cream social and take part in the biggest annual crime prevention and safety awareness program in our city and far beyond. Meet your police and fire department personnel . Learn about the CERT program and lots more. This year already 30 block hosts have registered with our police department. And that number of registered block hosts keeps growing!

As in past years, with so many in our community participating, this recognized award-winning program continues to demonstrate the importance of our neighbors uniting together in fun and educational ways. National Night Out has grown to include more than thirty-eight million residents in 20,000 communities across the United States (as of 2016).

To register now as a block host, please contact El Cerrito PD Detective Brian Elder at (510) 215-4421 or visit the ECPD’s National Night Out webpage at www.el-cerrito.org/nightout Block hosts will receive a special tote bag and goodie as a “thanks”.

See you there!
