ECDC membership runs from January 1st to December 31st. Existing members can renew any time before June 1st, and must be renewed to participate in any club votes – like election of club officers in January. After June 1st, past members are treated like new members. New members can join any time after September 1st and be members for 16 months (the balance of the current year and all of the next year) before they need to renew. In addition to this newsletter article, please look forward to an email from one of the ECDC Officers reminding you to renew. Membership is $20 for one person at an address, $30 for two at the same address, $5 for students and $12 if you request a hardcopy newsletter delivered to your mailing address.

The General Election on November 6, brought some surprises and some disappointments which will result in many changes of policy and personnel at the federal, state and local levels of government in the coming year.
As is custom, the November meeting for ECDC will focus on a review of the recent election and allow discussion of the ramifications and what may lie ahead.
The ECDC endorsement list (included here) will be updated with final results for candidates and propositions. Let’s see how well we did!
At the time of this publication (soon after the election) the Club has invited our State Senator Nancy Skinner to either speak at this month’s meeting, or a subsequent one, to give her views on the election results and what priorities she may have in the new state legislative session beginning in January 2019.
If the Senator’s schedule will not permit her to attend this next meeting, ECDC will reach out to other local elected officials who can attend to give their view on the General Election and the political year ahead.
