Members of ECDC receive the following benefits:

  • A monthly newsletter (ECDC News).
  • Are entitled to vote at all meetings and to seek election to office in ECDC.
  • Receive information about public policy issues of local concern.
  • Have opportunities to meet officials setting those public policies.
  • Are invited to special events regarding these measures.

In addition, membership in ECDC entitles one to the possibility of selection as a delegate to other Democratic Party organizations, conventions and caucuses. For example, ECDC sends a large delegation of members as delegates to the California Democratic Council Conventions to discuss policy and party strategy with other Democrats in the state. Members of ECDC also serve as representatives on the 14th Assembly District Committee and on the Contra Costa County Democratic Central Committee - fundamental organizations that operate and facilitate the Democratic Party campaign on a regional level.
